- PRIVACY COLLECTION NOTICE
Information for participants: this notice applies to participants in the Project SHIELD trial, and sets out how we may use personal information. The Project SHIELD consortium members are committed to ensuring all personal information is held in a confidential and secure matter, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act).
This collection notice is issued by Redback Operations Pty Ltd trading as Luceo Energy ACN 605 542 541 (Luceo, we, us), as part of a consortium consisting of Luceo, Energy Queensland (Energex Limited, Ergon Energy Corporation Limited), Essential Energy, GridQube Pty Ltd and The University of Queensland constituted for the Project SHIELD research project (the Consortium). The Consortium members’ privacy policies are available on their respective websites.
We collect personal information for the purposes of the Project SHIELD trial, to conduct research into power quality, household energy consumption and use. The trial will assist networks to manage the export of electricity into the grid, enable more accurate hosting capacities within low voltage networks and will also be used to create a digital observatory of de-identified data. Your information will only be used or disclosed for those purposes, and otherwise where permitted by the Privacy Act.
Not all details will be collected from every participant, however examples of personal information may include address details, NMI (national meter identifier), household voltage measurement data and household active and reactive power data measurements, provided by your energy distributor or third party service providers.
Your personal information may be shared with subcontractors and third parties, and may also be disclosed to our related bodies corporate, or other members of the Consortium, but only for the purposes set out in this notice or otherwise where permitted by the Privacy Act. We take reasonable steps to safeguard the privacy of personal information. We will destroy or de-identify your personal information once we no longer require it for our research purposes. Unless otherwise specified in our Privacy Policy, we will not disclose your personal information overseas.
Our Privacy Policy contains information about how you may contact us to make a complaint about our handling of your personal information, or to access or correct the personal information we hold for you.
